SV: {UAH} “We don’t know that Indian” — NRM on creditor

Mates,
As the same euphoria of speculations go,the impression I get from the whole is a big question mark on Hon Mbabazi. I still can not fathom how
a senior government and party executive who is besides, a lawyer, bedded for the situation.

That is calling a spade for a spade! How and why did he allow Nina to get involved in this without propper contract with not only the money lender but, with the NRM as well.

The way I see it, it was very feeble to give Nina the assignment without proper contract with the NRM. From what I gather, she is not an executive of the party. So, question is, how and why was she delegated the assignment? And, without a contract with the NRM party?

Beyond that, I have no opinion or comments on the
supposed reasons or other under current explanations than what has been brought infront of us UAH-ers.

Edward,

There is desperate attempt to refuse to pay the gentleman; having got used to looting banks where no records for repayment, my friends are in a fix.

What amuses me is, as they " Don't know that Indian,"  we are told that  " The case has since gone into mediation, failing which the trial will proceed. Why go to mediation if you "don't know that Indian?"
NRM-O should be sued for sectarianism " That Indian" discourse conveys hate, discrimination and racism which should be stamped out at the earliest chance possible; if left unchecked, it will spell future for people "Othered". Not long ago another regime dispossessed foreign nationals of their property that had been acquired over several decades.

This is the same robbery being reinstated though in a disguised way, robbery by trick.Amama Mbabazi said, " Pay or be sued!"

Folks;

This headline is taken from a direct quote, so it's not alarmist.

But, folks, do NRM officials need to be this pejoratively callous in order to deny a debt claim? Any party that allows this level of racism or sectarianism is unlikely to  mean well for non-party members.

"We don't know that Indian" — NRM on creditor

In perfect fashion of Peter's denial of Jesus described in the four canonical Gospels, the National Resistance Movement has denied knowing Mr Patel Arvind, let alone knowing the shs5.4b he allegedly lent the Party.

While addressing a press conference at the party seat on plot 10 Kyadondo road, NRM deputy treasurer, Singh Katongole, said they have never dealt with Mr Patel as party.

"I want to make it clear to everyone that we do not know that Indian," he said. "Patel, NRM owes him nothing. shs400M is not small money, does he have any instrument from me showing I received the money or that I requested for it? If he had any dealing with an individual, that is not party to NRM."
Mr Patel, according to his lawyer, Mr Fred Muwema, lent the NRM Shs400m to be repaid with interest within three months, and the money due has since accumulated to Shs5.4b.

When Mr Patel pressed his claim in the Commercial Court last week, NRM denied knowledge of the loan. The case has since gone into mediation, failing which the trial will proceed. If the parties fail to agree, Mr Muwema says Mr Patel may be forced to seek an injunction looking to block the national conference.
The loan in question, Mr Muwema says, was contracted by Ms Nina Kemigisha Mbabazi and Mr Frank Katusiime as they worked to computerise and update the register of NRM supporters. Mr Muwema says the loan was contracted "with the approval of party chairman President Museveni" and a commitment to repay it to boot.

It is not clear whether the party is reluctant to pay off the loan due to the fallout between former prime minister Amama Mbabazi and President Museveni. When the loan was contracted, Mr Mbabazi was thought to be firmly in charge of the party as secretary general, which is likely why his daughter, Ms Kemigisha, got the deal to work on the party supporters' register.
