Flamboyant Nairobi senator Mike Sonko displayed more than a million shillings in a facebook photo

Flamboyant Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has displayed more than a million shillings in a facebook photo taken in his office.

The Senator has received some criticism for the display of the money in thick stacks of a thousand shilling notes with some users on facebook calling him a show off.

"The Nairobi Senator is such a showoff. We have extremely rich Kenyans even in the Senate he sits in who don't behave like him. Your money is your business." Proudly Kenyan who posted the photo on his facebook page said.

"Over 60% in Kenya are in poverty and this is what he has to show. Down with the Bourgeois," another user commented.

Another said that the wads of cash must be photoshopped.

However some users defended Sonko saying he has helped a lot of people.

"I like this guy because he lives like he want and not how anybody else wants him to," another reader said.

On Monday, the Senator alleged that he was a victim of hacking saying that his twitter account had been hacked.

The hacker posted negative comments on his friends and close associates including politicians. He or she had even gone ahead to threaten to release Mike Sonko's private messages.
