Lucky Dube's daughter tribute to her father in Kenya
September 30, 2014 — Nkulee Dube, daughter of the late South African reggae artist, Lucky Dube, will performing a tribute concert for her iconic father in Kenya next month
Ms Dube is set to perform some of her father's hits including Prisoner,Mama and Remember Me, according to The Star.
"The idea is to celebrate Lucky Dube for the legend he was, and still is. One of the things we have done is work with Nkule's manager, Mark Miller. They have always wanted to have a tribute concert in Africa. They have never had one here before though they have done others outside the continent." Said Chigy of Fishborne Entertainment.
"In Kenya, the Tribute concert to celebrate this great man's life will be held in a VIP only show in Nairobi on October 16 and Nakuru on October 18. They know and appreciate how Lucky Dube is loved dearly in Kenya not only as a legend but as a musical icon," he added.
In 2007, Lucky Dube was gunned down during a hijacking attempt in Johannesburg. His death sent shockwaves around the globe affecting all of those who loved his thought-provoking music.
