{UAH} Jinja Footballers, 1947.Joseph Albert Picardo, used to referee football matches, at Bugembe stadium.
Some leading Ugandan civil servants of the 1960s -1980s. Seated L to R, George William Sooka Bakibinga, James Nyonyintono Zikusooka, Kalibbala, Albert Brewer Abaliwano. Standing, L, Professor Asavia Wandira; Extreme Right, Alfred Luba ( former Kampala City Engineer )

2.Kampala Road. Standard Bank in the background, Motor Mart at left. C late-1950s wouldn't be far wrong. There were <40k cars on the roads then; now 800k on the same number of roads, potholes and all!

4.A 17th century Mughal chain mail armored shirt. The chains are inscribed with the 99 Names of Allah, and on the gold breastplate verses 255 and 256 of Surat al-Baqara are written.

Now that's just a bad tactic, using gold as amour. It's too soft. If the armour was for just showing off, then that makes sense. This may be ornamental victory armour, since battlefield types were usually plain, detachable Damascus steel with the Shahada engraved on the front plate. The Mogul or Commanding Officers sometimes had their names engraved on their armour in Farsi (e.g. Shahanshah Aurangzeb). But the verses written shows thier personality & faith towards ALLAH subhanahu wa tha'ala.
The Mughals were only capable of constructing lavish buildings......inspite of being the richest empire in the world at their peak, they did little for the welfare of the people or by protecting the frontiers of our faith.....Unlike them the Ottomans stood the test of time and protected the heartlands of Islam for 600 years.
The Mughals were also one of the gunpowder empires. The Song and Chin of China used it against the Mongols, they in turn used that technology against their enemies. This transfer in technology was also part of what allowed the Ottoman armies to be so powerful.
