You know he would come up with something as outlandish as these concoctions; our indefatigable IGP "has intelligence" that some people have designed plots to sprinkle delegates' meals with some killer stuff.
And the same groups are planning illegal processions and roadblocks!
I guess the good general has to demonstrate to the appointing authority that he has everything under control, even if it involves fabricating threats.

Kampala- The Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, has said he received intelligence information that a group, which he did not reveal, is planning to poison food of the NRM delegates at the party conference tomorrow.
Gen Kayihura said the group's intention is to cause chaos in the country and fail the delegates conference. "There are plans to poison food for the delegates. Can you imagine? …We are now vetting the cook and also ensuring the food is safe," Gen Kayihura told the press yesterday.

Gen Kayihura said the groups are planning illegal meetings, processions and roadblocks but the police and other security agencies were monitoring them.

Gen Kayihura said the groups including NRM Poor Youth and Kampala Rescue Mission, whom he said are planning to hold illegal meetings and rallies targeting delegates at the conference.
He said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence had summoned people over the sinister plans but again declined to name them.
"We want to assure the public that we shall not allow anybody or group to disrupt the conference and the business in the city," he said.
