BALTIMORE - A Baltimore teenager was charged with fatally shooting his stepfather over an argument about the boy cleaning his room, according to Baltimore Police.
Cameron Barnes, 17, was charged with killing 40-year-old Josphat Kobia over the weekend.
Police also charged the boy's mother Tamara Harvey with murder, assault and weapons charges in Kobia's death.

Police were dispatched to the family's home in the 500 block of Queensgate Rd. on Jan. 3 just after 6 a.m. for a report of an injured person, according to charging documents.
Officers found Kobia lying face down in a pool of blood in his basement where he was declared dead.
At about 8 p.m. that same day, Barnes confessed to police to shooting his stepfather in the head, according to charging documents.
In a recorded video statement, Barnes said Kobia came downstairs and the two started arguing over Barnes not cleaning his room, according to the statement of probable cause. Witnesses told police that the home has a history of domestic violence.
"Mr. Kobia began pushing him and Cameron saw a handgun in Kobia's waistband. Cameron grabbed the handgun and shot his step father once in the head," according to charging documents. "He then ran from the dwelling and disposed of the weapon in an unknown location."

Barnes was accompanied by his grandmother when he spoke with police.
Harvey was less forthcoming with information, according to the court documents.
Police said she was found kneeling next to her dead husband with blood on her shirt, pants and shoes when officers arrived.
She told police that she was upstairs on the couch when she heard a loud pop downstairs.
"Her statement was inconsistent and remarks were quoted as 'if I told you I did it, I will still be charged with murder,'" according to the statement of probable cause. "She admitted to being in the house and lying on the cough in the 1st floor living room."
She told police that she did not investigate the loud "popping" noise in her basement.
She went on to request an attorney after telling police she had no knowledge of her husband owning a gun.
"Upon being prepared for transport to Central Booking, Ms. Harvey wanted to give another statement for "lesser charged." A further statement was not taken because she asked for an attorney."
Kobia and Harvey lived with their four children in the house.
