1990s Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein met through Epstein's girlfriend at the time Ghislaine Maxwell, daughter of disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell.

April 1998 Epstein flew to Bahamas where he met Duchess of York and daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.

1999 Virginia Roberts claims she was introduced to Epstein at age 15 through Ghislaine and gave him erotic massage.

July 1999 Epstein and Ghislaine visited Andrew on Balmoral grounds.

June 2000 At Windsor Castle, Epstein joined guests celebrating the Queen's official birthday.

Dec 2000 He spent time with Andrew at Sandringham.

March 2001 Virginia met Andrew in London, where she posed for photo with him and claims they had sex.

Easter 2001 She alleges she met him with Epstein in Manhattan and had sex with him for a second time.

2001/2002 She claims third sexual encounter with Andrew, an "orgy" on Epstein's island in US Virgin Islands.

2002 She severed ties with Epstein after meeting Australian husband.

March 2005 Epstein was arrested after stepmum of girl, 14, told Florida police he paid her for erotic massage.

2006 FBI probe uncovered string of vulnerable teenagers who claimed Epstein kept them at his homes.

Sept 2007 Plea bargain for Epstein. Prosecutors failed to tell victims for nine months. Deal shielded Epstein and any "potential conspirators" from number of charges.

2008 Epstein jailed for 18 months after pleading guilty to soliciting sex with a minor.

Dec 2014 Court papers claim Andrew had sexual encounters with Virginia – aka Jane Doe 3. He emphatically denies claims.
