| | Basic Function The person appointed to this position will be responsible for the running on farm grass variety evaluation programme. This will require daily liaise with commercial grassland farmers, timely recording of on farm grassland measurements and the storing of the relevant data in a grassland database. Additionally, this person will partake in the running of controlled grazing studies at Moorepark. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Manage and collect relevant grassland data from on farm grass cultivar evaluation studies •Liaise with grassland farmers participating on farm grass cultivar evaluation, ensuring measurements are completed in a timely manner •Responsible for data collection, record keeping and computer inputting. Person Specification Essential •Candidates must have a Level 6 qualification in agricultural science or a related discipline. | | BASIC FUNCTION: To carry out grass-based dairy cow nutrition experiments. To ensure that experimental procedures and protocols are implemented to a high scientific standard. This is a collaborative project between Teagasc Animal & Grassland Research and Innovation Centre, Teagasc Food Research Centre Moorepark and Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute Northern Ireland.
