{UAH} WELL WORN PATH!!
In many a culture; women are taught that the way to a man's heart is through the stomach. Feed the man well and he will be yours for good; the old women would say.
-- Salim Saleh, has decided to pull a leave from this old adage to prepare a soft landing on the n'tebbe. Like his brother and his brother's predecessor Obote, he's worked out that to land that seat he has to feed the Buganda stomach and like his brother he's gone further to feed the Buganda mind; which is through the Kabaka or Mengo. Like his predecessors, he knows by winning Buganda, half the battle will have been won. Because Buganda matters!.
Saleh's success will be based on how much the Buganda stomach can take. But it's the mind, he clearly wants to feed. Less costly but more effective. His gesture to the Buganda youth; today's tender mind but tomorrow's custodians to Mengo, is a smart move which is likely to place him, bang in the middle of the path. The question however; is when will a roadblock be set on this well worn path to check who is coming down the dusty road and with what gift? To allow one carrying kawuunga and not meere down this well worn path to Mengo is an insult not only to culinary tradition but to the ambition of Buganda and Ugandans who want change. Mengo needs a road block!.
