What does Besigye think of Gen Kayihura's face?
The inspector general of Uganda Police Force, General Kale Kayihura, is no doubt a clever man.
As we now know, this is a general who needs just hours to solve puzzles such as the recent murder of clerics. While clueless investigators are combing murder scenes and wondering where to start, Gen Kale can point, with ample accuracy, to the identity of the killers.
The other day, Kayihura delivered another verdict after another careful study. He told Capital Gang listeners that whenever he looks at opposition stalwart Kizza Besigye, he sees violence. It may sound ironic, coming from a general whose 'boy' violently hammered Besigye's car in 2011, before the colonel was sprayed with pepper! But well, let's carry on with what Kayihura said.
"He [Besigye] was talking about violence on the streets and we have got evidence that all his character in politics was violence and all his utterances and when you look at his face, the man is really violent," Kayihura said, attracting the fury of Gangster MPs Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda (Kyadondo East) and Abdu Katuntu (Bugweri), both members of FDC.
Although he was forced to "withdraw" the statement, Kayihura said he had evidence to back up his argument.
"Okay, someone might be angry, but not perpetually…," Kayihura added.
He insisted that Besigye's belligerent character is different from that of other opposition political actors, citing Maj General Mugisha Muntu, the current FDC president, as an example. Wolokoso would have loved to know what impression Dr Besigye gets when he looks at Kayihura's face! Hope the colonel will one of the days rate the general's face...
But trust Kayihura to be politically correct. If Besigye is violent, how about General David Sejusa, who spent much of the last 18 months describing Kayihura and his bosses using all manner of aggressive adjectives? Well, Kayihura is "not aware" of any harmful utterances by Sejusa who returned from exile in December!!
