{UAH} DCEPTION REGARDING PATERNITY
Mr Jim Muwanga,
Here is bit of good news to cheer you up. The Central London court
today awarded damages of £40,000 to a man who had been decieved by his
ex-wife for 5 years that a boy was his son, when in fact he was not.
While still married, the couple went to Barcelona for IVF treatment,
but unknown to the husband, the wife returned to Barcelona with
another man a few days later and it was his sperm that was used. The
boy was born and the man brought him up as his own child until when he
divorced with the mother when the boy was 5 years old, and thats when
the wife revealed he was not the father after all when they fought
over legal custody over the child. Today, the court decided the
conduct of the wife was so deplorable almost beyond belief and that
the man had sufferered stress, anxiety and trauma. He had also
contributed enormously to the upbringing of the child, genuinely
believing that the boy was his. Do you think £40,000 was sufficient
compensation if you compare it to the previous one where an ex-wife
was claiming £1.9 million from a man she divorced from more than 30
years ago?
