In as much as I have friends in this forum, Allan Barigye has been and will continue to be a very good friend and for a very long time. Yes we argue and yes we go our separate ways,  but at the end of the day, we agree to disagree, shake hands and promise each other to meet at a next front. And we always have a next front. But I adore him for he has the a bank of information on Uganda I can easily access to verify my information before I make an ass out of myself. The people that I respect, Barigye is only beaten by Dr Owor Kipenji I have been blessed to have on  a phone call away, and on a 24 hour basis, a true friend but a family neighbor. God I have called this man passed midnight. A very reason I was so hurt when he decided to go into a public forum and state that I was reporting Rwandese in Luwero and they were getting murdered by NRA, for Dr Owor Kipenji knows exactly how I left Uganda, why I left Uganda, and my stand on NRA but Museveni from get go. Dr Owor Kipenji is actually one of those very few people in this country, that know exactly my getting arrested in Uganda, who arrested me but how much I suffered under the UC government, but immigrating out of the region. Yet he so decided to hurt me publicly for being a UPC member turns people into gangerism. At that particular point Dr Owor Kipenji decided to drop a very personal close friendship past 15 years to support a firked up party, but  a party that has no shot to ever come back to power.  

 

And this is why his posting was very damaging, because Dr Kipenji authenticated that I was working for NRA in Luwero, now Simon Okurut has jumped on a bandwagon as Ocen Nekyon that I was praising Museveni, Akim Odong is having a freebie that I built Museveni. The day Dr Kipenji made that statement was a very bad but sad day,  but discussing political issues in Uganda forums is about learning how to jump bombs but still move forward. Dr Owor Kipenji's statement was a very sad bomb that will pass with time. I will live past that,  hope at a certain point we all as Ugandans reach a point of agreeing that if a woman kills a chicken without a consent of a man her left leg seriously does not have to be hacked off. For Acholi believe so and Dr Kipenji believes that information must always be left classified. It is very strange how Ugandans have narrowed discussing Uganda issues to being that personal. And I am going right back at Barigye's thinking, why does he have a problem believing that writings as the one blow are not indicators of how fucked up Uganda's future is? Do you think these Acholi will remain in Pabo or thy will show up in Kampala Masaka Jinja and Rukungiri !!!!!!  And as always I am just asking as all UPC members continue singing everything is alright, yup and we need to go back into that old educational system that produced the George Okellos to become the firkin mouth piece of the UK government.

 

We as Ugandans, have failed for we still believe that stupid men like Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere are intelligent but educated by the UPC system. Well can you extrapolate how he managed to fit in every single popping out government? The man is dumn,  cut him loose and move forward.

Trauma Counseling in Barlonyo and Abia IDP Camps

In the month of September 2007, we carried out counseling sessions in two different displacement camps, Barlonyo and Abia camps. We traveled there daily throughout the week to do counseling as well as help identify orphaned and destitute children, especially those from child-headed households who could be admitted into our COTN–Uganda children's home. We chose to begin with the two aforementioned camps because they were located within close geographical distance to one another and because they have been amongst such camps that experienced some of the worst human massacres within the Lira sub-region of northern Uganda, allegedly by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels. These two particular massacres occurred within the same month of February 2004; Abia refugee camp on the 4th; and the Barlonyo camp on the 21st. During these massacres, over 350 people, including children, were killed. Hundreds were gunned down while others outran the gunfire and hid in their thatched huts only to be burned alive in an inferno when the huts they were hiding in were torched. This horrific attack occurred in broad day light between 4 to 5 pm. Today, huge mass graves lay at each of the sites—one at Barlonyo and the other in Abia. These sites serve as a memorial to those who perished in that massacre and as a reminder of the cruelty and violence that the population has been subjected to.

At present, there has been a lull of hostilities and bloodshed due to the peace negotiations between the LRA insurgents and the Uganda government currently going on in Juba, the capital of southern Sudan. Many of the people in these camps have taken advantage of this peacetime and have left the camps to return to their villages to grow crops in their gardens so they'll have food. Whenever we reach the camps, with the help of local leaders we trace the families of the victims of the massacres to deep inside these villages. During counseling sessions we hear harrowing stories—word-by-word accounts of the ordeal that befell these communities in the refugee camps. We are also helping identify the children who lost their fathers or both parents in the massacres.

Our day begins with morning devotions in our office where we commit the entire day to Almighty God before departure to the field; so that the hand of God guides us in whatever we do and we not depend on our own understanding (Prov. 3:5). Continue to pray that God will continue to bring healing to those traumatized in Uganda and that He will use us in a mighty way.
