Outrage in Egypt over pyramids porn film

By This Is Africa on March 7, 2015 — Authorities in Egypt have launched an investigation into a sexually graphic film shot at the Pyramids of Giza by a European couple

A couple believed to be of Russian nationality thought it would be a good idea to desecrate revered monuments to the graves of ancient Egyptian royalty. Disgusting, right?

According to Egyptian Streets, the clip was uploaded with English subtitles to a number of porn sites about 9 months ago. It is just one of a series of explicit videos taken by the couple at various locations in Egypt including one on an airplane. In one clip, she flashes her breasts at the Pyramids, saying, "My tits and the Sphinx!".

The woman named Aurita speaks into the camera, complaining about the views on the tourist site.

"This f***ing sucks," says the actress as she drives past the Pyramids. "What is there to look at? It really sucks, even our resorts are better."

Her male accomplice agrees, expressing a wish for the pyramids to be destroyed.

"What's there to see? I hate f***ing pyramids," says the unidentified man who also uses derogatory homophobic terms to describe vendors at the Pyramids, "I wish they would be f***ing destroyed."

Egypt's Minister of Antiquities urged an immediate investigation. However, Egypt's Al-Masry Al-Youm reported that local security guards were aware of the filming.

"The film was shot in broad daylight and with the knowledge of the officials in charge of the area," said Osama Karar, the coordinator of the Popular Front to Defend Antiquities in Egypt to AMAY. He added the videos reveal the name of an Egyptian tour company and the identity of tour guide who was with the couple.

Understandably, the series of videos has angered Egyptian authorities. Egyptologists have branded the movies 'demeaning' and said the government should act to prevent its further distribution due to the effect it will have on Egyptian culture.

We do hope that the investigation leads to a just end. These people must be brought to book. This is a lewd act of insult to Egypt and even Africa's cultural heritage.
