Museveni Hands Shs 10 Million to AK47's Family

Singer Emmanuel Mayanja has Thursday afternoon been laid to rest at his ancestral home in Mityana.

Mayanja, commonly known as AK47 died Sunday night moments after he was found lying unconscious inside the Kansanga based Dejavu bar washrooms.

The circumstances under which the young musician lost his life are just getting unraveled bit by bit, by police as investigation hit top gear.

Reports from the burial ceremony indicate that thousands of mourners spanning the music industry, government officials, family and friends gathered to say good bye.

At the occasion, President Yoweri Museveni handed Shs 10 million cash to support AK47's family. In a message he sent though ICT Minister Hon Nyombi Thembo, President Museveni described AK 47v as an astoundingly hard working young man, unlike most of his colleagues his age.

By press time, condolence messages were still trickling in from in and out of the country. "RIP brother AK 47. We had some good times together; Rest well Brother," grieved Nigerian artist Davido.

Meanwhile Police today released the official postmortem results confirming earlier reports that the singer had suffered a fractured skull.

The report indicated that AK47 died of blunt force trauma, and that his brain was affected by the fall.

Kampala Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga revealed that more tests were being conducted to on samples taken from his liver, and kidney and blood and that the full outcomes would soon be released.
