Local musician Harriet Kisakye has been hospitalised over a yet unknown ailment.

The singer famous for songs like Gyenvudde tebibadde birungi, Kandahar and Kinigeria, among others, was admitted to Mulago Hospital on Thursday.

Kisakye's ailment is due to a septic wound on her right arm just above the wrist that seems to worsen by the day causing her unbearable pain. She is admitted in Ward 2B.

Friends to Kisakye say about two months back what started as an itchy skin gradually broke into a wound that kept growing wider and deeper.

She treated the wound like any other but it only got worse.

Kisakye is reported to have sought all kinds of interventions thinking it was more than just an ordinary wound.

Caretakers including her friend and fellow musician Betty Mpologoma said Kisakye last stepped on stage on March 20 in Kalangala with Riders productions, a troupe she heads though she did not perform that night.

She was forced onto stage after impatient fans, who said she was the only person that had kept them waiting late into the night threatened violence. She only explained to them her condition and said she was unable to perform, drawing sympathy from the fans

Mpologoma has appealed to the public for anyone with assistance to feel free and visit the ailing musician.
