Prostitution is today a very variegated business. It is wrong to refer
to it as the "vice " trade". Some practitioners even don't call
themselves "prostitutes" at all these days.. I have observed this
practice in many countries and I can assure you that a market for it
exists and will never be controlled or diminished by social policy or
religious or moral bigotry. Prostitition also has a social value to
those who are partial to it. It therefore needs to be cleansed and
made safe. The abolitionist outcry is misplaced and will not succeed.
