{UAH} MAKINDYE SSAABAGABO DESERVES ANOTHER CONSTITUENCY

Wakiso District Council under LC V Chairperson, Matiya Lwanga Bwanika has passed a resolution supporting creation of six municipalities in the most populous district in Uganda, which is also a potential second city.
We had an NRM public rally at Masajja Ndikuttamadda, Busaabala Road last Sunday and the consensus was the Makindye Ssaabagabo Municipality, with a population of almost 300,000, should have three constituencies basing on a population size of 100,000 people as it was the case in 1962 and 1980. Yet the President suggested population size (which was 70,000 according to  1993 C.A. Statute, should be raised to 80,000.
Likewise, Kira Municipality should have at least three MPs, one or two MPs shall be under representation.
There is no need fro Nabweru to join Nansana for Nasana to become a municipality. Nabweru can be on its own.
l think that can be fought at a parliamentary level when our people appear before the committee. If our MPs were revolutionaries and do not fear change, they can do that on the floor of parliament.
