Brothers and sisters, at last Minister of Local Government Adolf Mwesige has accepted to elevate Makindye Ssaabagabo Sub County to a municipality level, in addition to Kira Town Council which had already been elevated.
Others that are to be elevated in Wakiso District is Nabweru Town Council and Nsangi Sub County.
All those new municipalities will be parliamentary constituencies, but they will not replace the existing constituencies. They will only be additional.
l am proud of having started the jihad/crusade for elevation of Makindye Ssaabagabo into a Municipality.
l was joined by Ambassador Kintu Nyago, Local Government leaders led by Nsangi LC III Chairperson Haji Abdu Kiyimba.
and LC V Chairperson Matia Lwanga Bwnaika.
The LC V Council under Chairperson Matia Lwanga Bwanika had resolved for elevating Wakiso and Kyaddondo North MP Kasule Ssebunnya was for Kyaddondo District which is pending in Parliament.
