It is known worldwide that smoking cigarettes kills human beings. However:

 

·         There was nothing in the Ugandan media to mark the World Health Organisation's  World No Tobacco Day  on May 31 2015.

·         Yet British American Tobacco (BAT) had full page advertisements in the New Vision and the Daily Monitor on June 29 2015.

 

Those responsible for the Uganda's tobacco control efforts – such as, Sheila Ndyanabangi in the Ministry of Health and Gilbert Muyambi of the Uganda National Tobacco Control Association – need to provide the country with some answers to explain this deathly silence.
