{UAH} Verdict on the VOA JPAM Interview: Flop!
Verdict on the VOA JPAM Interview: Flop!
It was a total disaster from the beginning to the end. It was like watching a man begging a potential murderer to let him escape through the window.JPAM's response on presidential term limits was so disappointing--no regrets on his part at all, and that was lame. Yes, sometimes, the army that will defeat dictatorship doesn't wear uniforms, or calls in air-strikes, but it doesn't dance around it. What this army does is to undermine military dictatorships and military lobbyists openly. Where people feel powerless, it helps them organize for change, and where people are powerful, it reminds them of their responsibility. I don't think JPAM did much of that, and I wonder why!
Throughout the interview, Mbabazi left me confused, totally confused, especially with phases like:'M7 is still my friend'; '...I subscribe to the core principles of NRM',' he has led us very well in peace' and he later said:'.....up to 100 of my supporters have been arrested by the police'. So which leadership is that M7 has offered in times of peace?
I had started shading off my theory on all this being a 'game' but this interview has sent me back to square one. I hope he doesn't answer questions again that way if he intends to last long in this 'game'!
