Bill Cosby Said He Got Drugs to Give Women for Sex, Gave to at Least One
NY Daily News

Bill Cosby admitted under oath that he bought Quaaludes to dope the women he wanted to grope — and slipped the sedative to at least one lady and "other people."

The reputation-ruining admissions were contained in court documents obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

Cosby, who has repeatedly denied claims that he drugged and abused women, damned himself while testifying in a lawsuit filed against him by a former Temple University worker, Andrea Constand.

"When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?" asked Constand's lawyer, Dolores Troiani.

"Yes," Cosby answered on Sept. 29, 2005.

Then Troiani asked: "Did you ever give any of these young women the Quaaludes without their knowledge?"

In a 2005 deposition, Bill Cosby admitted that he obtained Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with.

Cosby's lawyer objected, leading Troiani to petition the federal judge to force Cosby to cooperate.

Constand, whose dad said she met Cosby while she was working for the women's basketball program, claimed the comedian plied her with what he said was an "herbal medication" and molested her while she was woozy.

It was actually three half-pills of Benadryl, Cosby testified, according to the unsealed court papers.

Troiani, however, had serious doubts that Cosby was telling the truth, the papers revealed.

The comedian, who became a beloved cultural icon playing doting dad and husband Cliff Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," denied assaulting Constand and settled her sexual-abuse lawsuit in 2006 for undisclosed terms.

But Cosby's lawyers fought long and hard to keep his Quaaludes admission buried.

"The only reason Mr. Cosby settled was because it would have been embarrassing in those days to put all those women on the stand and his family had no clue. That would have been very hurtful," a Cosby representative said in a statement to ABC News late Monday.

More than two dozen women have come forward with claims going back four decades that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted them.

"This confirms the allegations of numerous victims who have alleged that he had used drugs to sexually assault them," attorney Gloria Allred, who represents several of Cosby's accusers, told The Associated Press Monday.

"This admission is one that Mr. Cosby has attempted to hide from the public for many years and we are very gratified that it is now being made public," said Allred, who hopes to use the unsealed testimony against the comedian in court.
