{UAH} The very highly triumphant Pope Francis returns to Rome as a world hero!
He has marvelled in Latin America where he leaves a heroic impact that will send echoes
all over the globe. He has shown he belongs to everybody and displays no logic of indifference
before any type and any situation. has proved to many observers that through God's word one can change
the whole world without borrowing any leaf from those impotent bloody revolutions that only leave behind
hatred and division. Pope Francis, the revolutionary Pope, as the Latin American press has largely dubbed him
is returning to the Vatican as a great world leader to whom all will continue to run to seek advice and counsel and
to be blessed with the charismas of love and wisdom from the true Vicar of Christ.
Yesterday Sunday 12th July 2015 was his last day in Paraguay, the final leg of his visit to Latin America. He began his day by visiting one of the famous slums of Benado Norte, in the poor district of Asuncion, the Paraguayan capital city.
And he prayed in the St John the Baptist Chapel before visiting some poor homes in the area and addressing 30,000 people who had gathered there for him. A good number of them openly told him of their suffering as citizens who had been abandoned....and left on their own! In reply the Pope pleaded for solidarity in faith involving the whole city.
He affirmed that faith without Christ was faith without God and was also faith without a brother. And that faith without solidarity was was a dead faith. And he told the families that their effort to struggle on in spite of the great challenges reminded him of the challenges the Holy Family in Nazareth had to face regularly. The Pope's moving words won strong acclmations from the jubilant poor inhabitants of the great slums.
From there, passing through thickly crowded and cheering streets the pope went to the vast Nu Guaz Park where he celebrated Sunday Mass and recited the Angelus prayer before a very great crowd numbering hundreds of thousands.
Several tens of thousands of them had slept in the Park to make sure they had a place for the big Mass which was attended by the President, H.E. Mr Horacio Cartes and his Argentinian counterpart, President Cristina Kirchner. The Pope who arrived to real thunderous applauses mingled with sharp ululations castigated during his homily those ideologies which always fail to achieve anything positive but just end in dictatorship. He advised the congregation to disregard anything leading to the logic of egoism, unwarranted struggle, division, superiority, and instead embrace that logic of love, life, and gratuitous service. His sermon was very strongly cheered by the vast multitudes.
After Mass the Pope was driven to a cultural service run by the Apostolic Nunciature to meet the bishops and to have lunch with them.
Late in the afternoon, before boarding for Rome, the Pope met the youth of Paraguay on the bank of River Costanera
in Asuncion. Hundreds of thousands of young people answered present for this meet. They performed and sang before their great visitor. And three of them read a preparation inwhich they outlined their sufferings, challenges and the way they were trying to overcome them. they requested the Pope to accompany them spiritually. The pope in his warmly intervention thanked the three youths fo their writing. He referred them to the Beatitudes in St Matthew (Ch. 5 ) a reading that was energetically useful to help in any difficult situation. He further advised them to come to know well Jesus and to embrace the wise option that involves solidarity, hope, and work. He furthermore advised the whole assembly of youths to become Jesus Christ's true friends. He recited a short prayer, gave his blessing and waved to the ululations of the crowd. He then rode his popemobile and went away followed by deafening cheers that even added to those of other hundreds of thousands of people who had lined the entire route from downtown to the airport where, following a rich protocol farewell ceremony the Pope boarded the Alitalia that took him to Rome where he is expected this Monday ( 13/07/2015 ) at 1.45 pm ( Rome Time )
