{UAH} Did You know President Khama's Policy supports Botswana Craftsmen and Artists?

The President on coming into office said if any government department wanted to decorate its offices with Flower pots, Pictures, Paintings etc

The departments must go to the Batswana, craftsmen and buy from them the crafts. Go to Botswana Artists and buy their Paintings i.e. from where they display them. i.e. craft markets or on road sides.

That is Good government Policy.

How many decorations in Govt offices if any are made by Ugandan Craftsmen or Artists?

Why doesnt UG Government support local artisans when buying office chairs tables etc? instead of importing from China????

e.g. Government depart in Mbale should buy from a Mbale carpenter or artist

  a department In Arua must purchase from an Arua Artisan

Thats how you economicaly empower regions and peoples.

Not all the money gets stolen in Kampala. A lot of money would go to the serious people/artisans in each region rural or not.
