{UAH} President Yoweri Museveni has proudly spoken about his performance as 'Chief Justice' between 1980 to 1986.
Ssekajja,
Museveni told judges during the third national legal aid conference at Speke Resort hotel Munyonyo in Kampala on Monday that he served as 'Chief Justice' during the five-year National Resistance Army (NRA) guerrilla war which delivered him to power in 1986.
In his capacity as 'Chief Justice', Museveni said he presided over the hearing for three soldiers (NRA rebels) who shot dead three civilians in Ssemuto in Luwero triangle in 1982.
Jim Muhwezi, now the Information and National Guidance minister, who was the NRA's 'paralegal ' had argued that the accused persons' actions (murdering three civilians) were influenced by alcohol, Museveni said.
"They (NRA rebels) were brought before the High Command which was the Supreme Court and it had a Chief Justice. We executed them. This is the incident on which NRM was built because the relatives of the civilians killed by our soldiers said these (NRA) are genuine," the president said, attracting laughter from the judges.

Some members in this forum are lucky that they are not taken to the high court where our president presides as "Chief Justice." Just imagine the justice that George Okello will have have in that court with Otafiire as the prosecutor and Ahmed Katerega as a court clerk!
