SV: SV: {UAH} M7 to transform Acholi

He-ehe-ehe aha, Simon, what kind of brother are you?
You should be hyappy for the good things that your brother has just as he too is proud of the ones you have.
Then you  / we borrow from each other; learn the good parts from each other.

Simon, culture is never destroyed (well, of course, it is transformed into bad and / or good cultures just like the old chemistry told us about matter. But we know that they are. But we say so, because it sounds good and it feels good!!).

Brother, when a society has been devastated by all the Evils of evilness such as boundless penury, destitution, desolation and the baddest
bad-ass psycho-social aspects glaring from dawn to twilight for as long as the North and East of Uganda has been,we derive a lot of values and positive energy from having access to all the fancy sweet things that the other parts do ( which they already consider obvious).

I guess that culture bit is a matter of choice and depends also on how Mangohead politicians mishandle
our priority in the development.

Simon, next time you take on another urban tourism in Uganda, do me a favour, put some gas and hit the Kampala-Gulu road just to study
the demography and the peoples behaviour, demands and God knows what.

I don't desire to influence your findings but, truth is, after Nakasongola, another reality comes dazzling on your face. You might not fail to notice
the change to small miserable-dry-skinned yet, industrious hungry beings making a living out of humiliation.

From Nakasongola to Gulu and beyond, you see it and feel it all around you.

Now, tell me brother, what is wrong with people coming home to you in Gulu to get the sweet things in life which formally was a prerogative of
Kampala urbanes only?

Think about pupils able to read under lamps without feeling dizzy from poor stinking "Lafut", " Tara" and getting alergic  ((which doctors can't even get a finger on)?

Think about electronics or drinking cold beer like GOOK etc

Think about water pumps, the boost in trade volumes, communication.....

Ah brother, you help me fill the list. I know you know even more and far better utilities to extract. What was it you were saying about
pride and self confidence and enviroment and stuff?

Gaumoy,

You say, "... and culture elevation aspect." Sorry brother, industries and huge developments destroy cultures, so very soon you will be mourning for instead of celebrating about cultural elevation! When industries attract us ( Iteso, Karamojong, Ojamees, Bakiga, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Germans, Kikuyu, Russians, Rwandese, Congolese, South Africans etc) to Gulu, we shall bring our ways to dilute your ways and with time no more odii or brotherly sharing, you will learn to eat with your back turned to  the doorway!

If you are thinking of elevating your culture, better start crying before the first rig is hoisted, good development but sorry about culture, brother!

Peter Simon

Mr Kwitonda,
What is so desperate in the Presidents pronouncement?

OC'LA GAUMOYI do not see any lie. It is a matter of truth (accept it or not), that
those long term ifrastructures are being built. AND, WE APPRECIATE THEM for their values (( both from a socio-economical point of view
and culture elevation aspect)). Community developers, politicians, local leaders and the business community should
now extract utility from them to advance long term development.

"THE GATE WAY TO THE BIG PICTURE GOES THROUGH THE SIMPLE SWEET INGREDIENTS OF OUR DAILY LIVES!!!!
There are lots to develope and it is a  process.

Yes, Gulu needs a few industries / companies that employ at least a few hundred each.

I hear Gulu has a Mayor or is geared to have one. He / she surely shall have a lot to deal with.
Lets wait and hear their campaign beef. I shall surely be there.

President Yoweri Museveni has announced plans to transform northern Uganda into the country's industrial hub to accelerate development in the region that is recovering from the 20-year Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) insurgency.
Presiding over the 53rd independence anniversary celebrations in Gulu district, the President said the ongoing road and electricity infrastructure development projects in the region would attract more investments and create jobs for the youth.
Citing sites like the 650MW Karuma power dam which is under construction and others to be built like Ayago (850MW), Uhuru, Kiba, and Murchison Falls, Museveni said the amount of electricity northern Uganda will produce will be much higher than what is produced in Jinja, where hydro electricity production started.
