Akim, even growing sugarcane is good. It depends on how the marketing is structured. That is where some good innovators with a little some fantasy
come in. What is wrong with growing sugarcane if it gives good dividend? Soon you'll see people from Amwuru and else where selling sugarcane to
industries at Atyak and Nwoya.
It feels good knowing that you and I do not look at it from the same vantage point. It makes easy for election campaigns.
See how those Mangohead politicians with nothing to offer except to disguise under land issue where beaten bare by Madhvani? They themselves are the lawmakers. But in between the elections, they were just ape-jumping in rhetorical showdown only to be caught unaware?
What were they doing for the past decade while Madhvani was pursuing legal checkmate?
No, gone are not the days when an industri employs a few hundreds. At least not in Africa. At Africas level and with Africas mode of production,
there are ways...., LOTS OF WAYS!!

Simon;
Laduma simply confuses all aspects of development. Gone are the days when a single industries employ thousands. These days are days of smart industries that employ a few but thousand of robots. I agree with you that What Mu7 means by industries is growing sugar cane. What gabbage!

Sorry brother, industries and huge developments destroy cultures, so very soon you will be mourning for instead of celebrating about cultural elevation! When industries attract us ( Iteso, Karamojong, Ojamees, Bakiga, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Germans, Kikuyu, Russians, Rwandese, Congolese, South Africans etc) to Gulu, we shall bring our ways to dilute your ways and with time no more odii or brotherly sharing, you will learn to eat with your back turned to the doorway!If you are thinking of elevating your culture, better start crying before the first rig is hoisted, good development but sorry about culture, brother!Peter Simon

--Mr Kwitonda,What is so desperate in the Presidents pronouncement?OC'LA GAUMOYI do not see any lie. It is a matter of truth (accept it or not), thatthose long term ifrastructures are being built. AND, WE APPRECIATE THEM for their values (( both from a socio-economical point of viewand culture elevation aspect)). Community developers, politicians, local leaders and the business community shouldnow extract utility from them to advance long term development."THE GATE WAY TO THE BIG PICTURE GOES THROUGH THE SIMPLE SWEET INGREDIENTS OF OUR DAILY LIVES!!!!There are lots to develope and it is a process.Yes, Gulu needs a few industries / companies that employ at least a few hundred each.I hear Gulu has a Mayor or is geared to have one. He / she surely shall have a lot to deal with.Lets wait and hear their campaign beef. I shall surely be there.Noc'la gaumoyTFN: +46736906771"WE FORM THE CULTURE THAT FORMS US"….noc'la gaumoy.Den lördag, 10 oktober 2015 21:33 skrev john kwitonda <kwitonda4@gmail.com>:
