Men across Britain will know that a regular jaunt to the pub every week will not be so easy once married life hits.

Handily for those men who worry about what his wife will do if they find out he's having a swift half instead of helping put the kids to bed, one pub has apparently set up a system to help them out.

One Reddit user uploaded this sign that he found at his local, that offers up various excuses in return for payment.

And if you want a better excuse to give to a wife who rings up asking where her man is, you'll need to stump up more cash.

For £1 you get a vague "nope, not here", but for the top price of £5, bar staff will say they don't even know who you are.

Of course, this could all be one big publicity stunt - it's not unheard of for viral videos and pictures to have been set up by marketing firms to get a business on the map.

However, there is no actual information about where the name of this pub or where it is, so it could genuinely be a top secret ruse for men to get away with a cheeky night out.

Although that might now come to an end - wives around the country will now know what excuse to watch out for…
