Jinja Woman MP loses seat

Court in Jinja Thursday nullified the election of Jinja woman MP Agnes Nabirye of NRM over electoral malpractices.
High Court judge Flavia Ssenoga ruled in favour of the petitioner FDC's Maureen Kyalya Walube.
Walube petitioned Court accusing the Electoral Commission (EC) of giving her votes to the NRM candidate during the tallying exercise in the 2011 election.
Ssenoga ordered fresh elections for the seat and ordered the electoral body to meets legal costs incurred by Walube for messing up the tallying exercise that unfairly handed victory to Nabirye.
