{UAH} So the celebs have also cashed in. Who is next?

Friends,
Granted, celebrities have a long history of supporting political candidates. But there's no question that most of Uganda's celebs have no principles at all and are only in it for money. The likes of Lucky Dube who sang liberation wars are a rarity in Uganda, and that disappoints a little bit. It's all about "nfunilamu--wa"! A lot of people are doing political prostitution: during the day they are for Besigye or JPAM, but change into yellow clothes at night!

Nevertheless,I highly doubt the new song for Museveni will influence voters that much if the whole intention of it's writers was mainly to make money out of the only person it's praising. For instance, I like the song- "Nabulo" Iryn Namubiru sang for Bukenya's late mum, and my dance strokes become visible every time it's played, but I have never really given a damn about Bukenya. The Museveni song is basically overtly political and follows a pattern of Museveni being viewed as an idol rather than a politician.

I probably wouldn't have minded others for wanting to make a bit of cash off the president, but not my favourite comedian, Anne Kansiime, and that Haruna guy who sang "ekiitoke kifa Nsalira". Please somebody tell me that Iryn Namubiru escaped a brain 'arrest'!

Anyway, what's exactly the difference between our celebs now and the "guilty" professor in Kakiiri? The system is just so broken morally. Self respect and integrity have long gone out of the window , such that It's going to take a whole generation of new young people to fix it this time. The current generation is a waste, man, as they are even capable of selling their kids and mums for money.

"In tribute to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Uganda, two bastions of strength in a world filled with strife, discrimination and terrorism."
