{UAH} UN human rights commissioner calls for investigation into alleged police brutality
The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has urged the Ugandan government to launch an independent investigation into the recent arrest of a female member of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change party. The call was made by the UN body's Country Representative Uchenna Emelonye at a news conference in Kampala. Emelonye's concerns were in reference to the incident in Kanyaryeru in Kiruhura district where the police roughed up a female FDC member while arresting her.
