THIS unbelievable block of flats in Singapore has been named the World Building of the Year.
Judges at the World Architecture Festival, held at a luxury resort in Singapore, awarded top place to phenomenal The Interlace.
The urban village, designed by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture and Buro Ole Scheeran, was praised for having a “radical and alternative” approach to living in a tropical environment.
The building contains 31 “stacked” blocks of flats and is six stories tall, equipped with swimming pools, tennis courts, gardens and roof terraces.
The World Architecture Festival were held at a luxury resort in Singapore,
Festival director Paul Finch said the project was “blazing a trail with an example of bold, contemporary architectural thinking”.
Winning the Future Project of the year award was the sensational Vancouver House in Canada, which is a futuristic building said to look like a curtain being pulled aside.
London’s Olympic Stadium also scooped 2015’s Future-Led Development prize, with a judge praising the building as “sustainable, efficient and respectful of London’s Olympic heritage”.
Another UK winner was Wellington College Performing Arts Centre in Berkshire for the Future Projects Education award.
