Controversial leader spells it out in letter read to church
Controversial pastor Andile Myemane, who leads one of the biggest churches in the province, has left his marital home and reportedly moved in with his mistress, who is also his sister-in-law.
These details emerged recently and were confirmed in two letters Myemane wrote to his wife Pumza. One of the letters was read to her in front of the whole Jesus Christ Family International Church in Mdantsane by Myemane's junior pastors, who took turns reading it.
In one letter Myemane tells Pumza that he is leaving her. He accuses her of witchcraft and of stealing money from the church's coffers. He informs and reminds her that God has already chosen another wife for him – Nombuzo Sisilana.
Sisilana is Myemane's sister-in-law as she was married to Pumza's late brother Pangalele "Parks" Sisilana, who died mysteriously in June 2008.
This week well-placed sources have since confirmed that Myemane has now moved in with Sisilana. His wife, Pumza, also confirmed that Myemane was no longer living at home.
These latest developments come to light a few weeks after the self-proclaimed apostle-prophet returned from Dubai, where he spent a few days on holiday with Sisilana. That holiday, according to reliable sources within the church, cost Myemane about R400 000.
Two weeks ago Myemane's wife, Pumza, was humiliated in front of the whole congregation when she was removed from the main auditorium and told to sit in one of the church's offices. Since then she has not returned to the front row, where other pastors and their spouses sit. Last Sunday she sat in the fifth row.
The Dispatch has spent the last three weeks trying to obtain comment from everyone concerned. Myemane, after first speaking to our team for a few minutes, referred us to the church's leadership. Sisilana gave us a short interview and answered most of the questions.
Pumza spoke to the Dispatch twice, once in a brief visit to her Beacon Bay home.
While Sisilana confirmed her January holiday with Myemane in Dubai, she denied they were having an affair. She claimed it was a family trip. Asked if Pumza had been with them, she refused to answer any questions about Pumza.
But Pumza confirmed she was not in Dubai. "I did not go to Dubai. I went to my child in Port Elizabeth," she said. Myemane and Pumza's child is studying at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
During two telephonic interviews with the Dispatch, Pumza confirmed that Myemane no longer lived at home. In the first interview she said he was at home "on and off".
"He says he is going to pray in Port Alfred. I do not know about Buzo [Nombuzo]. I cannot say for certain whether he is with her or not; you will have to ask them that," Pumza said.
In another interview a few days later, Pumza said: "My husband is no longer living at home."
The Dispatch first exposed that Myemane was having a relationship with his sister-in-law in 2010.
This was after a recording emerged in which Myemane spoke of a message from God, who told him to marry Sisilana. At the time Sisilana, her two children and her mother had moved in with the Myemanes.
Despite Myemane confirming in writing that he intended taking Sisilana as his wife, and Pumza saying he was no longer at home, Sisilana denied they were living together.
"I have heard that I am pregnant and that I have had an abortion before, but I am not affected by rumours from faceless people. I am just listening," she said.
Myemane first refused to speak about this and when told that Pumza and a number of other people had confirmed that he had left their marital home, Myemane then said: "Ask Mrs Myemane if she wants me to give you a copy of the letter I have written."
In the letter, which is now being circulated on e-mail, Myemane finally confirms what he has been denying since 2010. He confirms that God had instructed him to take Sisilana. He also writes about a Port Elizabeth incident when Pumza caught him kissing Sisilana.
"He [the Lord] said to me Buzo is the one who was going to take the vision to the last lap together with me, for you have given up."
He also writes that when he told Sisilana about this, she was shocked. "I continued telling her until she was persuaded and finally succumbed to what I said. You then saw us kissing as we were all in the same room, and when you saw us, I felt it right to tell you what I believed God said to me.
"All this was a clear sign that there is a spirit that wanted us to separate. I know for a fact that when it comes to witchcraft, you are easily used by the devil. Pumza, these are but some of the reasons I decided to move out of my house. All in all, I am running from you Pumza, to save my life," the letter reads. — siyab@dispatch.co.za A DAMNING letter, currently circulating within the East London Christian community, vindicates the Dispatch regarding an exposé it published in 2010.

The letter is believed to have been written by Andile Myemane, leader and founder of Jesus Christ Family International Church. In an interview with the Dispatch he also referred to having written a letter.
Myemane, who graduated with a PhD from Interdenominational Theological Centre of SA and became a professor in the same year, also goes by many titles including including pastor, apostle and prophet.
In the letter he alleges that his wife, Pumza, spent many years abusing his son, Ntandazo. The boy was born prior to the couple's 1989 marriage.
"You [Pumza] knew how much I love him, my family also knew, but you decided to ill-treat him behind my back every day of his life," part of the letter reads.
Pumza is also accused of acting with her late brother, Phangalele "Parks" Sisilana, to stand against the progress of their church.
"You teamed up with your younger brother against everything that the Lord told me to do in this vision. You and Parks were against me until Parks passed away due to causes which no one could explain," reads the letter.
Pumza, is also accused of stealing from the church. "As for parents I'm very disappointed in them; for them to receive stolen money and goods from you knowing you are not employed … They don't even see me as a man. I was only their cash cow."
When the Dispatch approached the Myemanes for comment, an e-mail from the church said: "We as leaders of JCF International have come to a conclusion that Pastor Andile Myemane … is not going to expose his wife in public … Meaning he is going to keep his marriage issues between himself and his wife." — Siya Boya
very high education. We can call Obote all bad names we have, but the bottom line remains that he got more scholarships for Buganda than all previous Uganda leaders combined. That includes Sir Edward Mutesa, President Lule, President Binayisa, up to and into Ssabasajja Mutebi. Who all happen to be Baganda leaders." Mulindwa
