{UAH} RETURN TO TEARGAS
Am receiving word from Kampala that the city is in chaos right now. High revenue taxes resulting in shops and business building closed and many businesses at standstill. Business owners are on strike over rapidly increasing rents.
-- My feeder on the ground tells me their business too, is closed on her way home thru police roadblocks and teargas.
She say from May to Decembers their rent increased from sh. 1,000,000 to 1,500,00 to 2,500,000 to 2.700,000 and kaboom to 3,200,000 for in May, June, August, October and December respectively.
Business operators now want fixed and nonfluctuating rent hence the ongoing strikes hitting the city from corner to corner, street to street.
Some other Baboon on the ground could tell us more.

"But this I know, UPC believed and still believes in
very high education. We can call Obote all bad names we have, but the bottom line remains that he got more scholarships for Buganda than all previous Uganda leaders combined. That includes Sir Edward Mutesa, President Lule, President Binayisa, up to and into Ssabasajja Mutebi. Who all happen to be Baganda leaders." Mulindwa
