{UAH} AFRICAN BOOK EVENT: Dr Alfred Banya: Saturday
FREE INVITATION #AfricanBookEvent
Presenting a discussion led by special guests on the following two
recently published books:
"When an Elephant Cries" written by Lacere.
A gripping fact based story of the lived experience of the author from
childhood in the remote African Savanah, in Uganda. Written off, as
only fit for the rubbish pit, he struggles and progresses against all
odds.
The second book:
"Traditions and Sayings of the Acholi of Uganda" written by Angelo Andrew Banya
Introduces proverbs as a means of using oral African history to
provide insights into the norms of an ethnic group, in this case the
Acholi, a Luo ethnic group in Uganda.
The event aims use these two publications to trigger thoughts about
the importance of literature in sharing experiences and raising
awareness of heritage, culture and tradition.
Copies of the two books will be available to purchase.
Art work by Santo Ocitti, a gifted Ugandan artist, reflecting the
settings for these books will also be available.
