{UAH} Be prepared for fresh elections, says Opposition - National

The declaration of Mr Museveni as president for another fifth term did not go well with FDC officials, who allege that the electoral body gave out false results that did not include other polling stations countrywide.


Now they are tasking the EC chairperson to release the presidential declaration forms for an independent audit.
While addressing journalists in Gulu town on Monday, Mr Okumu noted the move was agreed upon by FDC executive members shortly after presidential results were announced.

Mr Okumu added that an independent audit will be done with the intervention of international bodies to cross-check the figures issued by EC that gave Museveni a win.

"This election is not conclusive and the population should remain calm but on standby for the second vote. As FDC, we reject the results. We agreed that submitting declaration forms countrywide will be done for proper verification," Mr Okumu said.


We also need the biometric system assessed again because we received information that some people voted many times without using the machine something that we will also investigate and compare our votes with what the machine says, Mr Okumu added.

He said the votes they have tallied showed that Dr Besigye was leading in many parts of the country contrary to what Dr Kiggundu announced.
