{UAH} Dr. Ofwono Opondo Sternly Warns Diplomats against Prying into Home Politics or Risk Expulsion
By Patrick Jaramogi
As tensions rise and tempers begin to flare just 16 days to the polling day, government has scoffed at Diplomats in Uganda to watch their 'words' and 'comments' regarding Uganda politics, or be thrown out.
The government warning to foreign envoys in Uganda was issued by government spokesman and Uganda Media Center Boss Ofwono Opondo. "Stop meddling into the internal politics of Uganda," warned Ofwono.
Ofwono Opondo said government had invited a number of international election observer missions, and that there was "absolutely no need for foreign diplomats to interfere" with Uganda's General elections scheduled for February 18th
"The government does not, therefore, expect, particularly members of the diplomatic missions here, to unduly meddle into our internal politics and elections as some of them are already doing," said Opondo.
