Museveni addresses Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) coordinators ahead of season start, State House Entebbe
Says purpose of OWC is transform subsistence farmers into commercial, target is the poor not yet in the money economy.
The meeting that took place at State House Entebbe today was attended by Ministers Bucanayandi, Rwamirama, Kataike, OWC Chief Coordinator Gen Saleh, Afande Julius Oketta, Uganda Coffee Development Authority Executive Director Ngabirano, NAADS Executive Director Dr. Mugasi, OWC Chief Economist Dr. Ramathan Ggoobi and Liason officers deployed in all agricultural agencies namely; NARO, UIRI, UCDA, NAGRIC etc.
the level of empty headedness in Uganda at the very highest level of our state has now gone into crisis mode.
The operation wealth creation is an ongoing failure that is clear to even the most imbecilic of who ever cares to know. We should have used our agricultural extension structures of old and a true revival of the cooperatives to deliver the change we need and create wealth. As for the soldiers they had better go into manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and banking. Their wazalendo should be turned into a bank. But again these things can not happen when some people's interest is to destroy and not build the country.
