There is need to plan and build cities in Africa let us promote the idea. East and Central Africa are to the top with investments opportunitiesalbeit with no integrated physicla planning of the region.

I am preparing this years conference uidc.siup.ac.ug early enough to give as many participants as possible time to organise their budgets. A number of issues emerged among which were notably; Green Investment, Project Financing, Transport, Planning, Smartcities, Urban Technologies etc., input in the East and Central Africa Urban and infrastructure development – you can read the summary on the website above.

 

This is an enormous undertaking that covers: Housing, Transport, Technology, Communication, Energy, Utilities etc. You are well aware that in this part of the world, despite enormous growth, there are very few well planned and developed towns and cities. Existing cities have enormous issues with housing, traffic, flooding, utility and amenities deficits etc.
