{UAH} Daraya has always been an outspoken place in Syria.

#‎Daraya‬ - I was watching a programme on Al Jazeera and the following was mentioned regarding Daraya which has been under Syrian government siege:

• Friday aid was allowed to enter through with the help of French - the aid convoy had come under fire
• Straight after aid was delivered about 32 bombs were dropped by the government forces - including barrel bombs
• 4,000 people left in Daraya from a previous 80,000
• Poor quality of water, small amount of farming
• People live in essence to what you could call "bunkers" - this is resulting in some children not being able to see properly

A little bit of history on Daraya:

• In 2006 Neil Sammonds (Syria researcher Amnesty International) went to Syria (Daraya) and met people who had been in prison for the following reasons-

-protesting the lead up to the Iraq war
-anti-corruption protests
-campaigns to clean their own streets because they believed the government wasn't doing enough

So in essence Daraya has always been an outspoken place in Syria.

When Syrian government forces went into Daraya the local handed them water and flowers - the government responded by torturing these people (even to death)
