{UAH} RESPONSE to NAHAMYA: MUSEVENI, OBOTE AMIN...
Mr Nahamya,
I agree that restoring the kingdom was a good thing. Buit i hope you will agree with me that a poor kingdom is largely useless. Culture olny thrives if the people are economically empowered. e.g the native Americans ("Red Indians") have a very vibrant culture but it is dying very quickly because the people are largely poor. m7 is deliberately making Buganda poor. He is also deliberetely ignoring education, health and infrastructure.
You are right that obote exiled the king. But you should agree that Obote did not delibertely impoversih Buganda or any other area. Look the facts...schools, infrastructure, unions, etc.
The colonial government also exiled the kings (Mwanga and Muteesa) but they did not deliberately impoverish the Baganda. In fact, both the British and Obote were not as biased as m7. e.g most top NRM leaders from the west nd Buganda were developed/educated/hired by Obote. How many kids from Lango are on statehouse scholarships? M7 is just keeping the populace poor and dependent on handouts from him. Early in his leadership, m7 noticed that folks in rural areas (where levels of education and level of income were lower than in urban areas) took longer to notice that m7 was expoliting them. So I guess m7 decided to make as many people poor as possible and keep education levels low. Then he started giving out scholarships to a handful of kids connected to his family and his goons. In his 30 years, he has managed to create a situation similar to Syria, Rwanda, Burundi, etc, where a kids from a ceertain area are very well educated but the rest have mediocre education...such that the civil service and business will be dominated by these kids who are rightfully qualified but unfairly favored.
Question: why would Mayiga, Mukula, Kajura, Omara Atubo, etc..help m7 expolit their own people? To me, these local leaders are far worse than m7. It is alike a Jew helping Hitler kill fellow Jews. In my humble view, that person is worse than Hitler.
thanks
