{UAH} Euro 2016

Hmmmmm! This has turned out to be the tournament of exorcising jinxes for many teams

except for the chronically under performing England and the much touted good for nothing Belgium.

There was of course the excitement from the maiden teams that became the Cinderellas of the tournament

viz Albania,Wales and Iceland.Hungary does not fit here because it has ever historically won a tournament before.

Italy Versus Spain was one of the many jinxes that were broken.Since 2006,the Azurris had always lost to Spain

yet this time around,they knocked them out. Unfortunately for Italy,there was Germany in the wait,ready to exact

their pound of flesh for the poor results they always got at the hands of Italy.They were able to do so through a toss

via penalties only that their excitement was short lived.France was also eager to get their pay back from Germany and

despite the Germans' controlling the game,the French had the last laugh over them.

Most unfortunate of it all was France the host nation that were not aware of the jinx the Portuguese wanted laid to rest too.

having lost in their last 10 matches to the French,both employed African legions except that those from Portugal looked

more greedy and may be the tears of their Captain being substituted within 25 minutes helped them stave off France

and bingo! they put their Fingers into the eyes of the whole Nation.

Now on rivalry level,Christiano Ronaldo has achieved what his greatest rival Lionel Messi has failed to do for Argentina.

So,should we still think Antoine Griezman should really get the FIFA player of the year award as Arsene Wenger has suggested?
