{UAH} WELCOME BACK FROM EID FESTIVITIES
Brothers and sisters, welcome back for Eid El Fitri festivities. On our
part we had Eid prayer at Masjid Al Answar, Masajja Kibira zone B and
l attended Dhuhuri prayer at Masajja Kibira Zone A, between Busaabala
and Salaama roads.
The Deputy Imaam of Masjid Answar castigated Shiahs so much and even
condemned their efforts of pu tting up Masjid Swadiq and primary
school at Kuleekaana trading center, Salaama road.
Then l remembered a lesson from our religion, peace and conflict
resolution lecturer Dr. Anasi Abdunoor Kaliisa at Islamic University
Kampala Campus Kibuli when he told us that when followers of Ali
called themselves, Ahalul Baiti, then Muawiyah reacted by calling his
following, Ahali Sunni wal Jama.
The Prophet never left as Sunnis, Shiahs or any other. He left us
Muslims and it is wrong to call us Mohammedans.
According to the late Col. Muammar El Qaddaffi, Sunni, Shiah were
political parties that broke out to seize state power, army, and
police, after the death of the Prophet.
Why delivering Khutubah sermon after funeral prayer of the late
Supreme Mufti, Sheikh Zubair Sowed Kayongo, Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Kisuule
called for reforms in UMSC constitution so that it fits in a 21st dot
com century. He said it did not cater for non Sunni Muslims like the
Shiah who are growing in Uganda especially in Busoga and Eastern
Uganda, women, youth, disabled etc....
In my view, as a fraternity, Muslims should look for commonalities
other than differences, and imaams should lead by example.
