In anew shocking turn of events in the murder of city businesswoman Betty Katusabe, her father has written to the Director Public Prosecution to set free the jailed former Kampala CPS DPC Aaron Silingi Baguma.

According the letter written by Katusabe's father Alex Masereka Epafura who says he is the heir of her daughter Katusabe wants DPP to withdraw the cases because Baguma helped them to uncover some senior police officers who wanted suspects to walk free.

"Baguma helped us in assembling the witnesses that came up amid fear and intimidation to volunteer evidence that is now on the file" The letter reads in part.

Masereka also wrote that it was Baguma who helped them to get new investigators after the first ones were compromised and that it was him who arrested Sebufuu after he had been assigned a police escort to leave the country.

This comes after Baguma handed himself to Buganda road court today where he was charged with three charges of murder, aggravated robbery and kidnap with intent to murder before being remanded to Kigo government prison until Thursday 1 September 2016.

A source says Baguma's handing himself to court was a tactical move after the matter is already settled out of court between Baguma and Katusabe's family.

"Baguma just appeared in court for formality but very soon the DPP will withdraw the charges against him .They agreed with family of the deceased and everything is settled" source said.
