{UAH} EDWARD SEKANDI, ELLY KARUHANGA and WINNIE BYANYIMA
Hi Joseph:
First of all, irrespective of who said it, it was wrong. It was also irresponsible of you as a candidate not to disassociate yourself from such sentiments.
Secondly, Mr. Elly Karuhanga was being invited in his capacity as the CEO of Tullow Oil, yes he had been a politician but he had left elective politics years earlier.
Third, Ms. Winnie Byanyima was being invited in her capacity was the newly appointed Executive Director of Oxfam International. She too had left elective politics more than a decade earlier.
Are we saying politicians can't leave politics and pursue careers in the private sector?
It was wrong for their invitations to be politicized and ethnicized. In fact your writings seemed to encourage the mischaracterizations.
Sincerely,
Brian M. Kwesiga
I notice that Brian is not naming the person who said that....it was someone from the WEST...Rev Joseph Kamugisha. How am I responsible for Mr Kamugisha's words?
The debate was with me...and you accused me of something I never said? I think that was unfair and misleading. I was very clear that I opposed them on principle. But i guess you figured that you'd get folks from a certain area to sympathise with your position by implying that I opposed those folks on tribal grounds!thanks__._,_.___
