SSEMUWEMBA EXPLAINS TO HON.NAMBOOZE WHY HE CALLED MPS- MONTHLY PERIODS!
''Hon. Nambooze, with due respect, from my own observation, I don't think I'm quite wrong to use the rather contemptuous description' monthly periods' in reference to Uganda's MPs. Please understand that I'm not trying to insult any woman out there with that reference, and that I have nothing but the utmost respect for all women. But I think the reference is a fair one, and, when posed in such a stark way, might make people think. Moreover, I think that it is a bit of a stretch to suggest that the reference was only meant for "femenstruation," (women MPs). The reference is not necessarily premised on "gender-specific" feelings as much as it is fact that women go 'bloody' every month. Anyway, something tells me that you understand exactly what I was trying to say but you just want to protect the image of a certain parliament which makes me wonder whether it is worth it. But when you start using words like "majority", you concede that there is a lot of evil going on there that requires everybody to expose them. Again, by using the word "majority", you gravely damage your own argument of not 'killing the image of the parliament'.
''The other corollary to it is that you assumed that I don't exactly understand what 'menstruation' means, and that's why you went into the overdrive to tell me a lot about it. Well, you forgot to tell the readers that menses blood is actually dirty and the body tends to push dirty stuff naturally out, and this can only be compared to your 'majority' friends in our parliament-- whom we now find as detestable as they do little for the progress of our country. Don't we remember there are many many verses in Leviticus condemning the impurity of menstruation - (Oh Eve, you made women such vessels of Satan!). Anyway, most of the Ugandans I interact with feel let down by their MPs as the former have failed to develop the least understanding of the subtleties of their constituencies. That parliament is useless to majority of Ugandans but very useful to president Museveni!''
