{UAH} Benoît Hamon elected socialist candidate for the French presidential election

At last the French socialists have now a formal candidate to represent
them in  the forthcoming presidential poll four months from now.
Former Minister of Education, Monsieur Benoît Hamon has beaten former
premier Monsieur Manuel Valls  to win the nomination for the crucial French poll which will produce a successor to President Frnçois Hollande.
Voting was universal and over 1900000 voters parrticipated i the exercise.
Hamon polled 58.89% of the total vote against Valls's 41.11% .
Valls has accepted defeat and has qualified Hamon as the real socialist flagbearer. Hamon has also received a telephone call from President Hollande who further requests to meet him for a friendly conversation...
The news of the election which has brought joy tothe socialists and others comes
in on the day the French Handball team defeated Norway ( 33  - 26 ) in a thriller
that was attended by, among others, President Holland and thousands of fans from all over Europe and abroad, and millions of TV viewers all over the globe. The French won the World Trophy for the sixth consecutive time.
Benoît Hamon's election,if supported by the entire socialist family, may be seen as a landmark for the party's very much wanted unity. But the only worry for Hamon is likely to be caused by young Monsieur Emmanuel Macron, a socialist who stands
for globally embracing values that are attractive both to the left and the right. He is indeed a threat to all possible presidential contestants, Benoît Hamon included!
The latter has however promised to set up a team to help bring about normalcy in the camp!
There is a lot more to come from Paris regarding this election and its implication towards Africa, a continent where Frnce has a very strong presence.
