{UAH} Besigye so lonely in court. Where are the Byanyimas?

Dr Besigye reported to Nakawa court over treason today; alone and frightened!

This is what he said while in the dock.

"Your Worship, before I was charged in this court (Nakawa Magistrate court), I was charged in Moroto for the same offence. I have been told for 8months that investigations are continuing.

I told court that there is nothing no need for investigations since I admitted that I declared myself a winner. I therefore don't know what they are investigating because I have made that declaration in court. If it's an offence, we should start hearing how it becomes an offence on my declaration.

Clearly, this is not a case that is intended to pursue justice for the people of Uganda; it's a case used politically to cripple political opponents; to deprive the people of their choice in the election.

it's not fair to keep coming to this court only to learn about endless investigations. Your Worship, it's costly both in time and resources moving to this court over charges that have no merit.

I would like to respectful inform court that I will not be able to come back to this court over this matter. When they complete investigations, I can be notified to appear in court.

I secured bail in respect to these charges from the High Court. I will continue to responding to my bail terms of reporting to a High Court but I will never come back to this court except as a prisoner again-if they choose to arrest me."
