{UAH} Ethiopian girl band Yegna's funding axed by UK http://bbc.in/2i0IqJf

I told you about the growing anger of taxpayers in the UK about the abuse of the international aid budget. The UK is one of few countries in the world which devotes 1% of its GDP ( nearly £2 billion) annually demanded by the UN to international development assistance. But as you can see below, this money is often wasted. No one in their right senses can understand why the Department of International Development would give £5.6 million to a girl group in Ethiopia. May be Ambassador Ikanos can explain this shocking funding prirority, but most people in the UK would like to think Ethiopia has far more serious priorities, to start with, maternity child death which claims at least 2 million mothers every single year in Ethiopia. Now when we read about the shocking cases of open corruption sanctioned by Grand Mufti Kayibanda Museveni himself like in the recent openn thievery in relation to the Tullow-Oil Tax Case, do you wonder that most taxpayers will now begin to rebel against any aid money being channeled through corrupt and heartless governments like the Rwandan occupation regime in Uganda?  I pay nearly 33% of my earnings on tax, and I dont want a single penny to go to the Ugandan regime, because I already support a lot of good causes in Uganda through my own channels, and this is now a growing thinking in the UK that people who want to support development efforsts in poor countries should find effective means for channeling those efforts, and means which avoid government bureaucracy altogther.

UK taxpayers will no longer fund an Ethiopian girl band, the government says.

Hanon Yohannes May God bless UK for the efforts atleast! Idiots don't even know where (how ) when to use the money rather they run to stick in to their pocket . If that was me I would purchase garbage trucks set up waste management bureau and manage the waste in the city's. Instead of walking stinky and being fly zone garbages!

Darren Gillen Granting money to Ethiopia in whatever guise at present during the State Of emergency should be looked at I am frequently told by some Ethiopians that they do not need it! Unless Hailemariam and his government stop the killing and land grabbing I would start cutting all aid until the situation changes
