{UAH} President Museveni makes more reshuffles in the UPDF
President Yoweri Museveni has this morning dropped Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda as the Defence and Army spokesman, replacing him with Brig. Richard Karemire. Karemire who has been deputy Chief of Military Intelligence becomes the first Brigadier, a one star general, to speak for the army. No communication has been made yet on where Lt. Col Ankunda is headed.
The 1986 Bush war hero Brig. Proscovia Nalweyiso who currently works in State House as a presidential assistant has been Promoted to the rank of Maj. Gen. She is the first and only Female Major General in Uganda. She was also the first female Brigadier.
Col. George Igumba has been promoted to Brigadier and replaces newly promoted Major General Joseph Musanyufu as Chief of Military Personnel and Administration. Maj. Gen. Musanyaufu becomes the new Joint Chief of Staff, replacing newly promoted Lt. Gen. Wilson Mbas Mbadi who was made Deputy Chief of Defense Forces in the earlier reshuffle
Maj. Gen. Nakibus Lakara who was until recently the Deputy Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation returns to the Rapid Response Centre in Jinja as Commander.
Former 5th Division Commander Brig. Sam Kavuma is now the new Deputy Commander Airforce.
Newly promoted Brig. Henry Masiko who's been the Commissioner of Patriotism Clubs in the country is the newChief Political Commissar. He replaces Col. Felix Kulayigye.
Brig. Chris Bbosa is the new Deputy Commandant Senior Staff College Kimaka.
Brig. Paul Lokech is the new has 2nd Division Commander based in Mbarara. replaces newly promoted Maj. Gen. Peter Elwelu who is the new Commander of Land Forces. Lokech has been Uganda's military Attache to Russia
Brig. Michael Kabango who served as Uganda's Military Contingent Commander in the Central African Republic is the new Commander 5th Division based in Pader district.
