Ugandan boy with no face risks his life to remove tumour

A teenager who risked his life to remove a tumour covering his entire face has died.

Erick John Rwabirire, 17, from Uganda, was born with a rare bone disorder that caused the dangerous growth to develop.

By the age of three it was the size of a football and suffocating him, forcing him to drop out of school.

He later flew to the UK in 2015 after a charity helped fund the cost of essential 24-hour surgery which, although being described as 'cure or kill', was a major success.

But, sadly, he lost his battle just weeks after returning home to Africa in 2016.
